Premier Ag working with Land O’ Lakes to drive sustainability across the entire food value chain

While many may associate the Land O’Lakes name with butter, this Fortune 500 company is so much more. As one of the nation’s largest farmer-owned cooperatives, it has the unique ability to be involved in every step of the food value chain to create a more sustainable system.

Under its SUSTAIN network, the company is bringing together the best in ag technology and on-farm business management to drive sustainability across the entire food value chain.

It’s introduction of the Truterra Insights Engine earlier this year is clear evidence of that. This interactive digital platform, along with other services and tools under the new Truterra suite of offerings, will help farmers advance their stewardship goals and their return on investment acre by acre in real time. It will also help food companies measure sustainability progress.

A collaboration between Land O’Lakes SUSTAIN and Tate & Lyle, a global ingredient supplier, will leverage the digital platform to advance conservation practice on farms in the Midwest. As a notable buyer of U.S. corn, the partnership will enable Tate & Lyle to help corn farmers target and measure the impact of their environmental stewardship efforts using the latest technology.

In the Midwest, farmers will be supported through Land O’Lakes SUSTAIN ag retailer network, which includes Premier Ag, Ceres Solutions and The Equity.
