December 24, 2024The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving back. Supporting local organizations and helping those in need strengthens our communities and spreads joy to those who may need it most. At Premier Companies, we believe in the power of community and are proud to partner with local groups to make a meaningful difference. Here are some ways you can get involved this season, along with highlights of the impactful work being done by local organizations and Premier.
Support Youth and Education
Investing in the next generation is crucial to building sustainable communities. Premier Companies is deeply committed to supporting rural youth and education through several programs.
- 4-H: We proudly donate over $100,000 annually to 4-H programs across our trade territory, helping youth develop leadership, responsibility, and agricultural knowledge.
- FFA: From scholarships that enable students to attend conferences to sponsoring programs like meal delivery around Christmas, we’re dedicated to empowering the future of rural America. The Crothersville FFA chapter, for instance, provides meals to over 100 community members and organizes food and toy drives during the holidays.
- Adult and Youth Leadership Programs: By supporting programs that cultivate leadership skills, we’re ensuring communities continue to thrive for generations to come.
How You Can Help: Donate to or volunteer with local 4-H and FFA chapters, support leadership programs, or contribute supplies to food banks or schools in need.
Address Hunger and Food Insecurity
The holidays can be particularly challenging for families facing food insecurity. Premier Companies works with food banks and programs to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.
- Local Food Pantries: Premier donations are also matched by Land O’Lakes Cooperative to help food banks purchase needed items.
- Anchor House Family Assistance Center: Located in Seymour, Indiana, Anchor House provides essential support to families in need.
How You Can Help: Volunteer at your local food bank, organize a food drive, or consider donating funds to food programs that offer matching opportunities.
Empower Local First Responders
First responders play a vital role in keeping our communities safe, and we’re proud to support them with training and resources.
- Grain Entrapment Training: Premier sponsors first-responder training for hazardous situations, such as grain entrapments.
- Equipment Donations: From new radios to fire-retardant clothing, we ensure local emergency response teams have the tools they need.
How You Can Help: Advocate for and support your local volunteer fire departments and emergency response teams through donations or volunteering.
Fueling Community Programs
Premier’s partnerships extend to initiatives that bring joy and relief to families during the holiday season and beyond.
- Fueling Freedom: This annual event donates $0.50 of every gallon pumped to the Indiana National Guard Family Readiness Group.
- Cops & Kids Programs: Premier supports initiatives where police officers help underprivileged children shop for school supplies and clothing during the holidays.
- Fueling the Cure: For every propane delivery, $1 is donated to an endowment at The Ohio State University to support cancer research.
How You Can Help: Participate in events like Fueling Freedom or donate to programs like Cops & Kids to brighten someone’s holiday.
Premier’s Commitment to Giving Back
At Premier Companies, we are more than a business — we are a partner in strengthening the communities we serve. Whether it’s through donating time, resources, or expertise, we are proud to support causes that matter.
