Celebrating Another Successful Year of Fueling the Cure

Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? Although breast cancer remains the leading cause of death for women between the ages of 35 and 55, the death rate has decreased by 1% each year from 2013 – 2018. According to the American Cancer Society, this decrease is believed to be the result of finding breast cancer earlier through screening and increased awareness, as well as better treatments.

Breast cancer is talked about a lot this time of year, but early detection and diagnosis of all forms of this disease can help save lives. Some cancers, including breast cancer, are able to be found in their early stages before they have had a chance to grow and spread, and sometimes before you even see symptoms. This solidifies the need to continue raising awareness about this disease as well as funds for research and prevention.

Premier Companies is proud to play a role in this increased awareness and research to develop better treatments through our involvement in Fueling the Cure. Since 2009, Premier Companies has joined other cooperatives in donating $1 of every propane delivery to fund cancer research and prevention. To date, this program has donated $1,993,124.45 to the cause. $246,444.00 of this total amount was from this year alone, with Premier’s donations totaling $49,786.00, making this the most successful year yet!
